Our Princess has arrived

It is hard to believe that almost 2 weeks ago my teeny tiny princess joined us in this great big world. As much as I have wanted to slow down and try to remember every second---time has slipped away as I have had much more important visits to the NICU on my mind. Now here I sit in aww of my newest little blessing thinking back to how everything began to unfold Tuesday the 12th.

At about 6:30 that morning Callen awoke and we went to go eat.....I was feeling a bit uncomfortable so I decided that my little man could go play outside for just a bit until I felt better. So outside we headed about 15 minutes into outside I decided it was time for daddy to come home and get little Mr. ready because mommy wasnt feeling right. Once daddy was home they quickly got dressed and headed out to check the watering at the farm. At about 7:30 I just had a gut feeling I needed to go to the doctor I wasnt feeling right and my mommy instinct was setting in. I called my mom and firend and decided I needed to head in to be checked....luckily daddy made it home and we headed to the hospital together. My thoughts terrified my all over 32 weeks 6 days and as much as I thought I wanted her to come early this was no where near my dreams or wishes.....as we called the hospital I began to send prayers up as I knew my body was telling me something....I hoped a prayed the nurses at the hospital would tell me that I wasnt dialated and all was ok....unfortunately that wasnt the case. I arrived at the hospital dialated to a 5 and there was no stopping labor. They quickly gave me a shot for the babies lungs and one to try and slow contractions--all the time all I could think is no please not now, please let her be ok. As they preped me for my c-section I layed there praying that when they delivered her I would at least hear a cry something to let me know she was ok. Before the delivery I met the nurses, the nicu doctor heard all the possible outcomes and somehow some way still felt a little calm over all my fears. As they began the c-section the tears flowed, I prayed, we prayed and our first blessing arrived a baby girl---and she cried the most memorable strong cry I could have asked for. Her daddy got to see her before being taken to the Nicu. I remember asking her scores a 7 & 8....as they stiched me up I prayed for the sweet angel that had just arrived.

About 3 hours into the ordeal I was able to see my precious little girl----she was tiny but a fighter who from the first seconds amazed the NICU staff. We knew we were blessed. The next 8 days she continued to thrive---first she got of the C-PAP machine only 8 hours on it and even when she was on it was regular room air, next day the tube in her mouth for emergencies or to feed was removed after that she went under the lights for a few days, then after that she got off her warmer bed into what they call a regular crib, next she passed her car seat test, then finally the moment we had waited for we roomed in the night with her no wires-no tubes just Chris, me and our precious little girl--the next morning we were released and FINALLY taking home our tiny pink bundle.

Mother's Day

Oh sweet little boy who made me a mommy......I could not thank you more! I sat here this morning thinking that was my last mother's day as a mommy of one and I must say it was a wonderful day spent with you and your daddy. You have taught me so much about myself and just what unconditional love is. There isnt a day or should I say second that goes by that you arent on the forefront of my mind--to be honest I long for the days to be over just so I can get home to you. Your kisses, your hugs, the way you want me to rub lotion on your toes and now your belly, the way you rub my arm while falling asleep, the way you say mommy......I could not imagine my life anyother way. I am blessed to have you in it and am blessed I will be able to turn my blessing of one sweet baby into two in just a few weeks. Thank you sweet one for making me a mommy and thanks for making my Mother's Day such a special day!!!!

Boys....

Oh my boys...this shot was captured a little after the fact that I watched them hold hands and walk to the tractor.....mighty cute!!

My Little Boy

You know I often get asked about my little man and words just cant describe him....however the other night sitting at the little league game I realized he is one BIG lover boy...Yes I know that can sound funny or silly but it is sooooo very true. He is about the biggest sweetheart I know and I only pray it continues when he is 16 years old...lol

At night he rubs my arm, gives me sweet kisses and Paisley too, blows sugars to his daddy and when his daddy is a bit jealous because I am getting the wrapped up in mommy's arms hugs Callen jumps down runs over and gives his daddy some LOVIN just as well. Now dont get me wrong this isnt always the case--he can throw a fit with the best of them, can be very demanding, prefers to spend all his time outside and it a typical little boy. AND lately he is also one DIRTY little boy......we scrub head to toe in the bath and when we are done it is multiple colors (in part thanks to the dreaded bath colors that he LOVES sooooo much). So in honor of my little boy who likes to stay dirty I am attaching some pictures of him running the bases at the ballpark last night!!!

Safari Party Picture Recap

Are you ready for a SAFARI???

Well needless to say the party DIDN'T go as planned but I am begining to wonder what party ever does. The morning a preperations started off great until Uncle Matt came through the back door asking for clothes for Callen.....when I questioned why he was in need of clothes he told me he had thrown up. Just great I thought to myself as his 2nd birthday party was just hour away. Luckily by party time he was in full swing and we think he had gotten overheated from playing on Granny's new playscape but I guess we will never actually know although we were very cautious and kept him away from the kiddos just in case.

I must say this party was GREAT he had a blast we had a blast and this year was much more laid back then the 1st party......Thank you all for coming and enjoying a special day with Callen!!!
